Digi Galore Goth Challenge

Hello, Bloggers!  The latest challenge over at Digi Galore is GOTH, and we are sponsored by Delicious Doodles.

For this challenge, I used the Black Widow digi.  Isn't she so cool with all her spider friends?  I colored her with Copics and accented the spiders with Black Stickles.

I added Glossy Accents to her eyes to make them pop!  I finished off the card by inking all of the edges with Black Soot distress ink and some goth red roses.

For details on how to enter our challenge, be sure to pop by Digi Galore!  Thanks for stopping by!

Spooktacular Banners For Special Needs Kids Blog Hop: Hello Kitty Candy Banner

Welcome to the annual Halloween Spooktacular Banner Hop for Special Needs Children! I am joining in on Day Two.

I am delighted to join with more than 3 dozen other women who have each made at least one Halloween-themed banner that will be donated to hang in the room of a medically-fragile child at Pediatric Specialty Care in Pennsylvania.

Our Hop Hostess (Ellen CardMonkey Jarvis) works at PSC’s Bucks County site as Admissions Coordinator. The Banner Hop starts there (CLICK), so please be sure to circle back to the beginning to see all of the terrific banners that have been made for these very special children.

Ellen shared this information with us about Pediatric Specialty Care: “PSC is a very special place where children stay either long- or short-term, typically after hospitalization.  Most are dependent on ventilators and other technology to survive. Some have been born too early or with genetic diseases or birth injuries.  Other children suffer injuries later in life that require constant care later, including brain injuries from trauma or loss of oxygen (from choking, suffocation or drowning) and spinal cord injuries.

These children and their families -- and PSC’s staff -- will be thrilled to receive the Halloween banners, to help brighten the season when their friends and siblings will be out trick-or-treating.”

Here is the banner I am sending to a child at PSC:

Since this banner is going to a child, I wanted to be sure to stay away from anything scary.  Candy immediately came to mind!  I don't know about you, but when I think of Halloween, I get excited about all the candy!  YUM! :)

I created my banner using a base of cardstock and patterned paper from an older Doodlebug collection.  The orange trim is patterned paper cut with a scallop edge punch.  I cut the banner letters out of the same paper using the Storybook Cricut cartridge.  The green circles backing the letters were cut with a Nestie.  Hello Kitty was cut from the Hello Kitty Greeting Cricut cartridge.

I added Googly eyes to Miss Kitty, a sticker to her tummy, and a 3-D Jolee's lollipop sticker. I lucked out with the lollipop sticker.  It fit perfectly in her hand!

All of the letters have a little embellishment.  For example, the letter C has dimensional candy apple stickers.

Here is a close up of the second Hello Kitty included on the banner:

Happy Birthday, Leanne!

Today is Leanne's birthday!  She is one of the very talented DT members over at Lollipop Crafts.  We're celebrating by participating in a blog hop.  My blog isn't one of the actual stops on the hop, but you can hop on over to Lollipop Crafts to join the hop and see what the other LC DT members have created for Leanne!

I recently came across a cute cupcake digi from BirdieBrown's Etsy shop.  There are some really cute digi's there, and I'm definitely going to have to add more to my digi collection!  I inked up this cupcake digi with copics and added some Stickle accents to the frosting.  I also added Glossy Accents to the stars and ribbon.  I love how that makes the stars and ribbon look like epoxy stickers.  They also better match the paper which has a glossy look in some sections.

I fussycut the cupcake and then adhered it to a circle mat that I cut with my Nesties.  The sentiment was computer-generated and cut out with an SU! Word Window punch.

Hope you like your card, Leanne!  Have a wonderful day.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
